Welcome to my Radical Quilts Blog!

Close-up of 3-Dimensional Folded Flowers

I started this blog to share some of my ideas and hopefully encourage you to be creative in your quilting!

Here's something to get started - a close-up of my "Tree of Diversity in Creativity" wall quilt.

I was thinking about all of the different ways people are creative, and the different flowers represent diversity in creativity. The design is my own Free Radical Ranch creation and I had a blast making it!

This quilt was designed for the August meeting of the Stringtown Quilters Guild in Florence, Kentucky.  We wanted to do a "make-and-take" activity using folded fabric, and then I got excited about using the blocks in a piece!  The fabrics were selected from 5" charm squares that I purchased in the 2010 Tri-State Shop Hop in KY, IN, and OH.

This small quilt won first place in the "Miniature Quilts" category at the 2011 Boone County Fair.  The blocks are all 2 inches square.

I hope you are starting to be inspired!
